Following an MD PhD at the University of Bern and a postdoctorate at Harvard University in Boston, Yara Banz finished her training in pathology in Bern and Aarau. Her main research and teaching interests lie in cardiovascular pathology and hematopathology, which she oversees since 2011. Yara Banz is responsible for coordinating the teaching activities of the institute at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bern and head of the unit of postmortem diagnostics.
